has studied at the "J. Sibelius" Academy with students of Leopold Auer, Ottocar Sevcik and Carl Flesch. At the same time she attended the Normal School of Helsinki, obtaining the graduation exam with a score "Cum laude approbatur". Later she continued his studies at the “Santa Cecilia" Conservatory in Rome and graduated in violin with Arrigo Pelliccia. She also attended the chamber music with Guido Agosti, and later as first violin of the orchestra for conducting she studied with Franco Ferrara. She moved to Belgium and attended numerous Master Class of Arthur Grumiaux, studying with him regularly for five years and focusing especially to the most important concerts and virtuoso pieces for violin and orchestra and compositions for solo violin.
She has played in several European countries and the United States, both as a soloist and as a member of various orchestras, in various chamber ensembles, especially in duo with piano. Satu Jalas has participated in numerous conferences, seminars and training courses on national and international psychology and general pedagogy and instrumental. From 1976 to 2007 she taught violin at the Conservatory "A. Boito "of Parma and is currently vice president of the Italian section of ESTA, the European String Teachers' Association. She translated publications by Finnish, Swedish, English, German, French and Italian. She has written several articles published in specialized journals and has given numerous lectures-concerts in various European countries and the United States.
